Eldon brings over 60 years of experience to the farm along with his consistency, integrity, experience, and passion. His years of service not only on the farm, but in local, state, and national associations, provide a wealth of experience from which to draw. His wife of over 60 years, Sandy, served as bookkeeper for many years. Today she can be found sharing her years of experience, babysitting her younger grandchildren, and cooking meals for the fieldwork crew. They have three kids - Rich, Chris, and Lynda. While Rich and Lynda and their families are not currently active in the farm, they are still very supportive and helpful.

Chris returned to the farm after graduating from the University of Illinois and serving as a pilot in the Navy for 10 years. He initially started in accounting and field operations, and then assumed all management roles when Eldon was appointed as Administrator of the Risk Management Agency at the USDA in the fall of 2005. Chris continues to oversee the operation and provide general management. His wife of over 30 years, Dana, assists in the office, specializes in grain inventory management, and cooks delicious meals during peak seasons for our field workers. They have three kids - Kelsey, Vanessa, and Andrew.

Kelsey and her husband, Matt, are not currently involved in the operation but enjoy coming out to visit from Chicago and appreciate their agricultural ties.

​

After working part-time on the farm as his high school and college activities allowed, Andrew was recently commissioned as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy and is in the middle of flight school.

Vanessa is Chris and Dana's middle child and Logan is her husband. Logan has been a firefighter/paramedic for six years, and is currently going into year two with the Sycamore Fire Department. Vanessa is exploring employment opportunities closer to home. While Logan and Vanessa have careers off the farm, they are both working to determine their roles on the farm! For the time being, Logan enjoys getting his hands dirty and driving any machine he can, and Vanessa is interested in landowner relations and exploring opportunities to diversify Gould Farms (you can also find her in the grain cart come harvest). Both are working with Chris to deepen their business knowledge of the operation and look forward to continuing the Gould Farms legacy as the 4th generation.
